About

I design the systems through which people understand software.

Technical Writer turned Documentation Engineer: 7+ years in API and developer documentation, now focused on automating the pipeline that produces it.

My differentiator isn’t only explaining software. It’s designing the information architecture, components, and workflows that keep that explanation accurate as the product changes, in docs-as-code, on ReadMe and Mintlify, with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript where the platform runs out.

“I bring the writer’s judgment about what readers need, plus the engineering habits to make it repeatable.”

What I do

Six disciplines, one practice.

  1. Documentation pipeline automation

With a release engineer, built CLI automation that updates API documentation on every release, so docs ship with the product instead of trailing it. Designs Git-based review and publish workflows with explicit publish/no-publish gates.

  2. AI-assisted documentation tooling

Built a Claude Code skill that turns raw drafts into publish-ready MDX, and MCP-connector agents that answer stakeholder and customer documentation questions in seconds instead of hours.

  3. Documentation platform engineering

Customizes documentation UX with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; builds reusable MDX component systems on ReadMe and Mintlify, plus a ReadMe-partnered API playground. Also works in GitBook.

  4. API documentation

REST API references, webhooks, and SDK-adjacent guides. Audits endpoints, versions, and fields against real support feedback, with Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, and Redoc.

  5. Docs-as-code

Git, Bitbucket, Markdown/MDX, and CI/CD pipelines: documentation moves through the same review and release discipline as code.

  6. Enablement and adoption

Writes SOPs and delivers training so engineering, product, and leadership teams can run documentation automation on their own. Managed and mentored a team of four technical writers.

Where I stand out

Writer’s judgment, engineer’s habits.

I engineer the system, not just the page

The question that pulled me from writing into engineering: why do the same manual steps repeat on every release, and how do we make them disappear?

  • Release-triggered API docs automation
  • Draft-to-MDX authoring skill
  • Hub-wide rollouts run through a Claude + ReadMe connector loop

I measure documentation by what it changes

Good documentation shows up in support queues and satisfaction scores, not only in page counts.

  • 45% fewer support tickets at Recurly
  • Satisfaction from 56% to 92% on ReadMe Enterprise
  • 30% fewer doc-related inquiries after an API revamp at Lean Tech

I make automation stick across an organization

Tooling only matters if other teams can run it. I present it, document it, and train people until they don’t need me.

Experience

From writing docs to engineering them.

  1. May 2023 — Oct 2026Medellín · Remote, hybrid

Senior L&D & IT Technical Writer · Recurly

    • Owned the Subscriptions API, Webhooks, and Recurly.js documentation end to end, including publish/no-publish governance across ReadMe, internal databases, and Jira.
    • Led the evaluation, negotiation, and rollout of ReadMe Enterprise, consolidating three products’ documentation into one hub.
    • Built the release-triggered docs automation, the Claude Code authoring skill, and MCP-connector agents that replaced a 2–4 hour manual answer process.
  2. 2022 — 2024Medellín

Technical Writing Manager · Lean Tech

    • Managed and mentored four technical writers; introduced Git-based workflows, review processes, and style standards across multiple SaaS products.
    • Cut team task-completion time by roughly 80% with LLM-assisted workflows, templates, and consistency standards.
    • Led the revamp of API documentation that had been outdated for four years, restoring technical accuracy.
  3. May — Jul 2022Medellín

Senior Technical Writer · Lean Tech

    • Authored integration manuals, user guides, and platform documentation under tight release timelines, and a 24-page content guideline that became the base for documentation consistency.
  4. 2018 — PresentRemote

Technical Writer & Content Consultant · Freelance

    • End-to-end documentation systems for startups and SaaS clients: API documentation, onboarding guides, knowledge bases, and the templates and editorial processes that let them scale.
